Lymber was a technology startup that specialized in yield management solutions for businesses in the wellness industry, such as fitness studios and spas. The company developed a dynamic pricing technology that identified open inventory for classes and appointments, automatically adjusting prices in real-time based on supply and demand. This model, similar to yield management in the airline and hospitality sectors, was designed to help business owners maximize revenue by selling otherwise empty slots at adjusted prices without devaluing their full-price offerings.
The platform was built on MINDBODY's API, and in March 2017, Lymber was acquired by MINDBODY, a major provider of cloud-based business management software for the wellness industry. The acquisition involved integrating Lymber's dynamic pricing engine directly into MINDBODY's software and consumer apps. One of Lymber's co-founders was Doug Hecht. Following the acquisition, Lymber's team, including two co-founders and eight employees, were set to operate from a new satellite office in San Diego.
