LuxQuantum is a Luxembourg-based deep-tech startup dedicated to enhancing quantum cybersecurity through seamless interoperability between diverse quantum-security technologies. The rapid advancement of quantum computing poses significant risks to existing encryption methods, threatening sensitive data across healthcare, finance, government, and critical infrastructure.
Today's encryption relies on mathematical complexity that classical computers find extremely difficult to solve. However, quantum computers—expected within the next decade—could easily break these protections. This creates an urgent threat: encrypted data captured now could be decrypted later, requiring immediate action to safeguard sensitive information.
LuxQuantum addresses this challenge with a solution that integrates various quantum-safe technologies, including Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC). Currently, these technologies are siloed and incompatible, complicating deployment and hindering adoption. Our solution bridges this interoperability gap, enabling secure connections between different quantum-security technologies without costly infrastructure upgrades.
Our solution aligns closely with the European Union's quantum strategy, which promotes hybrid quantum-safe approaches combining QKD and PQC. The EU requires quantum-safe protection for critical data by 2030 and all sensitive data by 2035—goals directly supported by our technology.
The market potential for quantum technology is substantial, predicted to reach €155 billion by 2040, with the quantum communication segment alone forecasted to reach €36 billion.
We're actively embedded within Luxembourg's innovation ecosystem, incubated at Technoport, and supported by Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) funding from Luxembourg’s Ministry of Economy. We plan to secure further funding for industrial research to validate our technology through prototype development.
Our vision is clear: we provide secure, interoperable, and future-proof quantum communication solutions, protecting today's critical digital infrastructure from tomorrow's quantum threats.
