Lumeta Corporation, founded in 2000 as a spin-off from the renowned Bell Labs, operates in the network security and vulnerability management sector. The company's core technology originated from the Bell Labs Internet Mapping Project, which aimed to map the entire internet, and this foundation was repurposed to provide network discovery solutions for large enterprises and government agencies. In May 2018, Lumeta was acquired by FireMon, a network security policy management company, to enhance FireMon's capabilities in providing real-time visibility across clients' network infrastructures. Following the acquisition, Lumeta initially continued to operate as a standalone business unit. By October 2022, Lumeta's technology was fully integrated and rebranded as FireMon Cyber Asset Manager.

Lumeta's core product, formerly known as Enterprise Situational Intelligence (ESI) and later rebranded, provides detailed analytics on network segmentation and architecture. Its key function is to continuously scan and monitor the network to create a baseline of normal activity. When deviations or suspicious behaviors are detected, it alerts security teams in real-time. The platform uses sensors called "Scouts" to gather telemetry from various network environments, including private, public, and hybrid clouds, which is then analyzed by a central command center. This allows for the discovery of rogue devices, unauthorized connections, and policy violations that could otherwise go unnoticed. The technology also supports organizations during mergers and acquisitions by providing a comprehensive view of the combined network infrastructures to identify risks and cost-saving opportunities.
