Love Mondays established itself as a pivotal player in Brazil's recruitment landscape, functioning as an online platform for corporate transparency. The company was founded in São Paulo in 2013 by CEO Luciana Caletti, COO Dave Curran, and CTO Shane O'Grady, launching in 2014. Caletti, a law graduate from UFRGS with an MBA from Oxford, brought experience from Johnson & Johnson and Capgemini. Curran, an Irish executive with a finance background, had experience with The Boston Consulting Group, while O'Grady, also from Ireland, had a background in IT.
The platform operated on a model similar to Glassdoor, providing user-generated content to enhance transparency in the job market. It allowed current and former employees to anonymously post reviews, salary information, and interview experiences for over 75,000 employers in Brazil. This repository of firsthand information served job seekers looking to make informed career decisions and companies seeking to understand their public perception and attract talent. The business model focused on connecting national and multinational companies with Brazilian talent, offering specialized products for employers to manage their brand on the platform.
A significant milestone occurred in September 2016 when U.S.-based Glassdoor acquired Love Mondays for an undisclosed sum, marking Glassdoor's first acquisition outside the United States and its official entry into Latin America. Following the acquisition, Love Mondays continued to operate under its own brand and expanded its services to Mexico and Argentina. However, to streamline global operations and unify its brand, Glassdoor fully integrated Love Mondays in June 2019. All content from the Love Mondays platform, including its verticals in Argentina and Mexico, was migrated to the Glassdoor database, and the Love Mondays brand was retired. The founders have since moved on to other ventures; Luciana Caletti, for example, later co-founded Sundae Education.
