Locus Energy, now part of AlsoEnergy, specializes in solar monitoring solutions for the residential, commercial, and utility sectors. The company was founded in 2007 by Michael Herzig. His experience in creating and managing companies in the enterprise software, wireless, and media industries led him to establish Locus Energy to address the need for robust data analytics in the growing solar industry.

The company's primary offering was the LocusNOC (Network Operations Center) platform, a comprehensive tool designed for monitoring and managing fleets of solar energy systems. In 2015, Locus Energy was acquired by Genscape, a global provider of real-time data and intelligence for energy and commodity markets.
