Local Table.Co operates as a family-owned restaurant group under the brand Local Table, focusing on creating neighborhood dining spots that are both contemporary and suitable for families. The business was conceptualized by the family behind Hungry's Café and Bistro, a restaurant with a history of over 35 years in Houston. This new venture represents a next-generation concept driven by the younger members of the founding family, who identified a need in suburban areas for social dining venues that cater to both parents and children. The first Local Table was launched in Cinco Ranch, Katy, in April 2016.

The ownership team consists of brothers Shervin and Neima Sharifi, who are nephews of Hungry's founder, and their cousins, the brother-trio Ashkan, Arash, and Alex Nowamooz. This group combined their diverse industry backgrounds to establish what they envision as the ideal neighborhood restaurant. Sue Nowamooz, wife of co-owner Ashkan, serves as the executive chef, overseeing menu development across all locations, while Lindsey Martin directs the beverage program.

The business model centers on offering made-from-scratch, globally-inspired cuisine with a focus on locally sourced produce and fresh ingredients. The menu is designed to be diverse, featuring Mediterranean-inspired dishes like kebabs and hummus, alongside American comfort food and Texan fare. Catering to a wide audience, they provide numerous plant-based, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. Revenue is generated through daily lunch and dinner services, weekend brunch, happy hour, and catering for private events. Their locations often feature large patios, private dining rooms for events from 20 to 120 guests, and amenities like children's play areas. Since its inception, Local Table has expanded steadily across Houston's suburbs, opening locations in Cypress (2018), Fulshear (2020), Garden Oaks / Oak Forest (2021), and The Woodlands (2023).
