Tui Bon Natural is a Mizoram-based startup behind the beverage brand 'Local All Natural Soda', which it launched in December 2021. The company was founded by Zomawii Khiangte, a Carnegie Mellon alumna, and Felipe Rodriguez. The co-founders left their careers in New York to build a brand focused on natural, artisanal products from Zomawii's native region of Northeast India. Tui Bon Natural, which translates to "very tasty" in the Mizo language, aims to bring the unique flavors of the region to a global audience.
The company produces a line of non-alcoholic craft sodas using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and indigenous fruits such as pomelo, roselle, orange, and dragon fruit. By prioritizing produce from independent and smallholder farmers, the business enhances market access for these local agricultural producers. Its business model targets health and eco-conscious consumers, and it has established a presence as a preferred beverage partner for major music festivals across Northeast India.
In March 2024, Tui Bon Natural made history as the first startup in Mizoram to secure equity financing, concluding a pre-seed fundraising round that resulted in a valuation of $1.25 million (Rs 10.3 crores). Facilitated by the incubator Alsisar Impact, the funding attracted several angel and impact investors. The capital is intended to increase production capacity, introduce new flavors, and expand distribution to key metropolitan areas like Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune.
