Living Independently Group, Inc. was a healthcare services company established in New York City in 2002. The firm developed and operated the QuietCare system, a passive monitoring technology designed for the elderly care market. This system was created to support seniors living in assisted living facilities and other senior communities.

The core of the business was the QuietCare product, a behavioral monitoring system that utilized wireless motion sensors placed strategically within a residence. These sensors tracked the daily activities and living patterns of seniors without the need for cameras or wearable devices, thus maintaining resident privacy. The system's software would establish a baseline of a resident's normal routine, such as waking times, bathroom visits, and meal preparation. By analyzing data for deviations from these established patterns, the system could identify potential health issues or urgent situations. For instance, an increase in nighttime bathroom trips might suggest a urinary tract infection, or a lack of movement could indicate a fall. Upon detecting a significant change, the system would automatically send an alert to caregivers via pagers, phones, or a secure website, enabling them to intervene proactively.

The company's business model focused on providing this technology to professional healthcare settings, including assisted and independent living communities and homecare agencies. Features were specifically developed for these clients, such as "Wander Alerts" for residents with dementia and "Night Motion Alerts" for those at high risk of falling. The system provided caregivers with online reports and trend analysis, helping them to personalize care plans and respond more effectively to residents' needs. In a significant milestone, GE Healthcare acquired a minority stake in the company in September 2008 to co-develop and market the technology. This partnership culminated in GE Healthcare's full acquisition of Living Independently Group on December 1, 2009, integrating QuietCare into its Home Health division.
