Listory is a mobile and web application designed to curate and deliver personalized content such as articles, videos, and podcasts. The platform was founded in March 2020 by CEO Yaniv Gilad and active chairman Yaron Galai, following a management buyout from the discovery platform Outbrain. Headquartered in New York, the Israeli-founded startup launched out of stealth mode in November 2020 after securing a $4 million seed funding round. The round was led by Viola Ventures, Globis Capital, and Rhodium.

The company's core technology, a 'refinery engine', filters content from the internet by extracting recommended stories from newsletters and experts in various fields. This content is further personalized for users based on their social contacts, followed curators, and time spent reading previous articles. The service aims to provide a focused and relevant content experience, allowing users to save, schedule, and share stories. As part of its business model, Listory introduced an initiative where users could earn credits by submitting better content than what was recommended. These credits could then be used to subscribe to media outlets of their choice, creating a revenue stream while incentivizing user engagement and content quality.
