Let’s Move Down

LetsMoveDown was a technology company that developed a mobile platform for enhancing the fan experience at live sporting events. Founded in 2012 by Derek Shewmon, Federico Campbell, and Jeff Brisbin, the Washington, D.C.-based firm provided an application for in-game seat upgrades, mobile couponing, and exclusive rewards. The business model focused on generating revenue for sports teams by monetizing unoccupied or "no-show" seats while offering fans a more dynamic and engaging in-stadium experience.

The company's platform allowed season ticket holders and other fans to purchase seat upgrades or other special offers directly from their mobile devices during a game. Prior to co-founding LetsMoveDown, Derek Shewmon was a partner at Campbell Solutions, a digital forensics firm founded by Federico Campbell, and both held MBAs from the University of Maryland. Their combined business acumen contributed to the startup's early traction.

LetsMoveDown secured partnerships with several professional and collegiate sports teams, including the University of Maryland, Georgetown University, the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA, and the New Jersey Devils of the NHL. In May 2014, the company was acquired by OneUp Sports, a South Florida-based developer of mobile applications for professional sports teams. The acquisition, valued in the low seven figures, was a mix of cash and stock, and represented a strategic move to integrate LetsMoveDown's in-venue purchasing capabilities into OneUp's broader network.
