Leggal is a Brazilian legal-tech platform that provides legal support as a corporate benefit for employees. The company operates on a B2B2C model, partnering with companies to offer their "Legal Care" service to employees, who can then access a network of specialized lawyers for consultations and legal proceedings via WhatsApp. Leggal aims to democratize access to legal services in Brazil, a market where a large portion of the population finds legal assistance expensive and inaccessible, while many lawyers struggle to find clients.
The inspiration for Leggal came from founder Diego Battistella's personal experience in 2017 after his father's passing. He observed how a legal assistance plan in the Netherlands streamlined all procedures for his sister, avoiding stress and extra costs, which motivated him to create a similar model in Brazil. Battistella partnered with Taiane Fraga Lima, who has extensive experience in the employee benefits sector, to establish the company. The platform uses AI to connect users with suitable lawyers and provides a humanized customer service experience. For registered lawyers, Leggal offers a new channel for client acquisition and income generation, handling payments and allowing them to focus on their legal work.
In August 2025, Leggal announced a pre-seed funding round of $315K (R$1.7 million) led by DOMO.VC and Anjos do Brasil, with participation from angel investors. The capital is intended to accelerate product development and commercial expansion. At the time of the funding, the company served over 30,000 active users and projected reaching 80,000 by the end of the year. Leggal's business model is inspired by the legal-care-as-a-benefit trend in the United States, where it is offered by a majority of Fortune 500 companies, and it targets a potential market in Brazil estimated to be over $3.6 billion.
