Laidlaw Ventures
Investing in education to break poverty cycles, reduce inequality, and develop future leaders.
Laidlaw Foundation focuses on transforming lives through education, targeting underprivileged and underrepresented communities to break the cycle of poverty and reduce inequality. The foundation operates globally, partnering with 17 leading universities to sponsor the Laidlaw Scholars Leadership and Research Programme. This program aims to cultivate a new generation of leaders who are committed to solving complex problems with integrity. Additionally, Laidlaw Foundation offers scholarships for women at prestigious business schools, providing them with education and networking opportunities that would otherwise be inaccessible. The foundation also sponsors the Laidlaw Schools Trust, a multi-academy trust in the North of England, which educates 5,500 students and employs 850 teachers and support staff. The business model is primarily philanthropic, relying on donations and partnerships to fund its initiatives. Revenue is generated through endowments and grants, which are then invested in educational programs and scholarships.
