labor team w ag is an independent medical laboratory headquartered in Goldach, Switzerland, that operates throughout the country. Founded on March 15, 2001, by Martin Wyss, the company began with 26 employees and now employs over 400 people.
The company provides a wide range of analytical services for doctors, pharmacies, and hospitals, supporting disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Its services cover clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology, medical microbiology, molecular biology, medical genetics, cytology, and histopathology. The firm operates a high-tech central laboratory, which enables high-quality and flexible order processing. In its founding year, the company processed just seven orders on its first day of analysis, a number that has since grown to over 1.2 million orders annually.
In May 2021, the company was acquired by a team of medical and laboratory specialists in partnership with the investment firm GENUI. Dr. med. Alain M. Cahen took over as CEO, bringing his experience from the pharmaceutical and laboratory industries. Subsequently, in July 2025, Galenica Group acquired the Labor Team Group, which will now be managed as an independent "Galenica Diagnostics" business unit. The existing management team continues to hold operational responsibility.
labor team w ag has expanded its specialization, notably through the 2022 acquisition of the Center of Hemostasis and Thrombosis Zurich (HTZZ), becoming a leading provider in the diagnosis and treatment of clotting disorders. The company also offers digital services, including an online order portal and a results app, to streamline processes for its clients.
