Kudoz was a French startup that operated a mobile-based job search portal tailored for young graduates and professionals. Founded in 2013 by Olivier Xu and Pierre Hervé, the company was established in Paris, France. The platform functioned by matching candidates with job openings based on their resumes and LinkedIn profiles. It employed a user interface where job seekers could swipe right to apply for a position or left to reject it, simplifying the application process. The service was free for candidates and offered a 30-day free trial for companies.
In September 2015, Kudoz secured $1.36 million in a seed funding round from a single investor, Schibsted Media Group, the parent company of the prominent French classifieds site, Leboncoin. This investment marked the beginning of a closer relationship between the two entities. The platform served notable clients such as L'Oréal, BNP Paribas, Decathlon, and AXA, and claimed to have over 100,000 job seekers using its application.
On September 25, 2017, Kudoz was acquired by Leboncoin. This acquisition was a strategic move for Leboncoin to expand its presence in the specialized online recruitment market, particularly for executive and professional roles. Following the acquisition, the technological expertise of Kudoz was integrated to launch a new, personalized job search application called "Leboncoin Emploi Cadres" in May 2018. This new service was designed to cater exclusively to the executive job market, leveraging Kudoz's matching algorithms to provide relevant job offers directly to candidates. The original Kudoz platform is now considered deadpooled as its operations and technology were absorbed into Leboncoin's offerings.
