Konvoi GmbH provides a preventative, technologically adaptable security solution for the logistics sector, specifically targeting the pervasive issues of cargo and diesel theft, and driver assaults. Founded in Hamburg, Germany, in 2020 by Heinz Luckhardt, Alexander Jagielo, and Divya Settimali, the company originated from academic research conducted by the founders. The business idea stemmed from Alexander Jagielo's research into cargo theft during his master's thesis, which, combined with his co-founders' work, solidified the technical concepts and business model in 2020.

The company operates on a B2B, Security-as-a-Service model, renting its proprietary hardware and software solution to transport and logistics companies. This approach lowers the initial investment for clients and includes continuous support, software updates, and maintenance. The system employs a network of sensors to create a detection field around a truck and its trailer, monitoring for specific movement patterns indicative of criminal activity. When a potential threat is identified, the system automatically triggers a pre-defined chain of alarm measures. This full-service solution provides ten data points per second, utilizing environmental monitoring, shock sensors, and GPS tracking to prevent theft, damage, and operational inefficiencies.

Since its inception, Konvoi has achieved several key milestones. The journey began with an EXIST startup grant in 2020, which enabled the initial development. The company has successfully completed multiple funding rounds, including a seed round in June 2022 and a seven-figure financing round in January 2025, led by 1750 Ventures, the investment arm of VGH Versicherungen. This capital is being used to expand the company's data science, sales, and customer success teams to accommodate larger customer demands. As a spin-off from the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) and supported by Startup Port, Konvoi has leveraged a strong network to advance its market presence.
