Klinik Pintar is an Indonesian health-tech firm operating a network of digital and physical clinics, targeting the nation's $68 billion healthcare market. The company was established in 2018 as Medigo by serial entrepreneur Harya Bimo, who currently serves as CEO. Initially focused on digitalizing hospitals, the company pivoted in March 2019 to concentrate on clinics, which serve as the primary entry point for many patients, and subsequently rebranded to Klinik Pintar.
The company's business model is multifaceted, centered on providing a technology-driven, integrated healthcare ecosystem. It operates through a combination of fully-owned clinics, partnership clinics, and a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for third-party facilities. Revenue is generated through a profit-sharing system with clinic owners and by offering its clinic management software, Aplikasi Klinik Pintar (AKP), for free to clinics that source medical supplies and pharmaceuticals through its platform. This strategy allows partner clinics to avoid subscription fees common with competitor systems. As of December 2023, the company operated 23 of its own clinics in Greater Jakarta and provided its software to over 1,500 partner clinics across 280 cities, representing more than 5% of all clinics in Indonesia.
Klinik Pintar offers a comprehensive suite of services for patients, including doctor consultations, laboratory tests, vaccinations, and specialized care such as neurology and pain relief, accessible via walk-in, teleconsultation, or home service. For clinic partners, the core offering is the AKP platform, a clinic operating system that digitizes operations, from patient registration and queue management to inventory and medical records. This system is integrated with key national healthcare platforms, including the Ministry of Health's SatuSehat and the national health insurance program (BPJS), streamlining processes for clinicians. The company also serves the B2B market by providing on-site clinics and healthcare services for corporate employees.
Since its inception, Klinik Pintar has secured $9.1 million in funding across three rounds. A significant Series A round in November 2021 raised $4.1 million, led by Golden Gate Ventures with participation from Bundamedik Healthcare System (BMHS) and others. This was followed by an oversubscribed $5 million Series A1 round in December 2023, led by Altara Ventures. The firm plans to use this capital to expand its network to 100 managed clinics by 2025 and further develop its product offerings.
