Klevio

Klevio provides a technology platform for remote, keyless access to properties. Founded in 2016 by Aleš Špetič, Marko Mrdjenović, and Demetrios Zoppos, the London-based company merges hardware and software to allow users to manage door access from anywhere. The system is comprised of a hardware device that retrofits to existing locks and intercoms, a mobile application that functions as a digital key, and a web-based dashboard for comprehensive management.

The founders brought together expertise from different ventures to create Klevio. Aleš Špetič, a serial entrepreneur who founded companies like CubeSensors and Zemanta, serves as CEO. Marko Mrdjenović, the CTO, has a background in software development. Demetrios Zoppos, the Executive Chairman, previously co-founded the luxury home rental service onefinestay, where a precursor to Klevio's technology was developed to manage access to thousands of properties. This collective experience in hardware development, property management, and smart home technology shaped Klevio's product.

Klevio's solution is designed to work with almost any existing door, lock, or entry system without needing to replace them, allowing traditional keys to still be used as a backup. The platform enables users to grant or revoke access remotely, issue time-limited digital keys, and monitor an activity log of who has entered a property and when. This serves various clients, including property managers, short-term rental hosts (like Airbnb), offices, and commercial spaces, by streamlining key management and enhancing operational efficiency. The business model involves the sale and professional installation of the hardware device, which connects via Wi-Fi or 4G, and providing access to the management software.
