Kiveda Group operates as a multichannel platform for fully-fitted kitchens, leveraging a technology-enabled direct sales approach. Initially launched in 2013, the company aimed to simplify the kitchen purchasing process through online configuration and direct consultation. A significant milestone was the 2014 acquisition of Küchen Quelle, which brought a substantial revenue base and an established brand into the group. The company was started by the European Media Holding (EMH), with early backing from investors like Holtzbrinck Ventures.
The business model combines e-commerce with in-person service, where customers can design kitchens online and receive home visits from consultants for detailed planning. A key feature of its sales process is the use of mixed-reality planning software, developed by its subsidiary Island Labs, which allows customers to visualize their future kitchen in their own home. This technology is considered central to the company's strategy. The group, primarily operating in Germany, generates revenue through the direct sale and installation of kitchens, delivering around 13,000 kitchens annually with revenues of approximately €100 million as of 2021.
In June 2021, Kiveda Group Holding, along with its main shareholders EMH Partners and the new strategic partner EMMA Capital, formed the 'Home Furniture Group'. This new entity was created to expand the tech-enabled direct sales model beyond kitchens into the broader home furniture market. Following this restructuring, EMH Partners and EMMA Capital each hold over 40% of the shares in the new group, providing capital to support future growth. Christian Neusser serves as the Managing Director of the Kiveda Group.
