Founded in 2007 by Félix García, Kimitec is a Spanish biotechnology company aiming to replace synthetic chemicals in agriculture. García, who holds a degree in Economics, taught himself biotechnology and established the company with a vision to change food production methods. The company's journey began during a global financial crisis, a challenging start that required García to mortgage family homes to sustain the business.

With a team of over 60 researchers, the center works on more than 48 research projects to address global agricultural challenges. A key technological asset is its LINNA AI platform, which accelerates the discovery of natural molecules.
