The story begins in 1935 when Reinold Hagen founded the company in Germany. Driven by curiosity and a passion for technology, he and his brothers pioneered what would become a leading global company in extrusion blow molding technology. In 1949, Kautex developed the first machine in Europe for this process, which is used to create hollow plastic items like bottles and tanks. This innovation set the stage for the company's international expansion, which began with machinery exports to the USA. The company's journey included several ownership changes. It was part of the Krupp Group for over two decades, a period during which it solidified its position as an international leader in machine manufacturing. Later, it was sold to Klöckner Werke in 1989 and then to the American multi-industrial company Textron in 1996. These transitions helped expand its global footprint, with new plants opening in various countries. A significant chapter unfolded in early 2024 when the German company was acquired by the Chinese investor Jwell Machinery. All material assets and business operations were transferred to the new owner, securing the company's future. Kautex now operates as an independent brand within the Jwell Group, with its headquarters and core functions of manufacturing, R&D, and service remaining in Bonn, Germany.
