JetSuite, operating under its parent company Superior Air Charter LLC, was a private jet charter company founded in 2006 by Alex Wilcox, a founding executive of JetBlue Airways. Wilcox, with extensive experience in the airline industry from roles at Virgin Atlantic and Kingfisher Airlines, aimed to bring efficiency and transparent pricing to the private aviation market. The company was initially named Magnum Jet before being rebranded as JetSuite in 2008. It secured notable investments, including $7 million from Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh in 2011 and later, minority stakes from JetBlue and Qatar Airways.

The company's business model focused on on-demand private charter flights and a jet card membership program called SuiteKey. This program allowed clients, including high-profile customers like Netflix, to pre-purchase flight hours. JetSuite operated a fleet primarily composed of fuel-efficient Embraer Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 jets, which were equipped with amenities like Wi-Fi. The company prided itself on safety, achieving the ARG/US Platinum safety rating. In 2016, JetSuite expanded its offerings by launching JetSuiteX (later rebranded to JSX), a separate entity offering a semi-private, by-the-seat service on 30-seat jets from private terminals.

Despite its growth and having operated over 111,000 flights since 2009, JetSuite faced financial challenges. Court documents revealed the company had been operating at a loss for years. The decisive blow came with the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused a catastrophic 90% drop in business. In April 2020, JetSuite grounded its fleet, furloughed most of its staff, and its parent company, Superior Air Charter, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The filing listed assets between $1-10 million against liabilities of $50-100 million. Following a court-approved reorganization, the company retired the JetSuite brand name in September 2020 and recommenced operations in November 2020 as Superior Air Charter. The separate public charter service, JSX, was not part of the bankruptcy and continues to operate independently.
