JalSevak Solutions Private Limited, legally known as Jalconserve Technologies Private Limited, is a Pune-based company established in August 2020 that is tackling India's water scarcity and wastewater management challenges. The company operates in the wastewater recycling market, targeting both residential and commercial clients with a specialized focus on greywater—water from showers, laundry, and sinks, which contains minimal pathogens compared to sewage.

The company was founded by Dr. Abhijit Sathe, who serves as the CEO. Raised in the drought-prone city of Solapur, Sathe's personal experiences with water scarcity fueled his mission. He holds a PhD in mechanical engineering and an M.S. from IIT Madras. Together with co-founder and COO Sharad Gupta, a civil engineer, Sathe developed the initial prototype at an IIT Kanpur laboratory. The venture was started with a personal investment of ₹15 lakh from Sathe and received early support and funding of ₹22 lakh from IIT Kanpur, which was crucial for product development and testing over three years.

JalSevak's business model centers on the direct sale, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of its patented greywater recycling systems. The company has developed a compact, on-site, and scalable solution designed to be India's first dedicated greywater recycling system. This technology can be installed in both new and existing buildings and treats greywater for non-potable uses like toilet flushing, gardening, and floor cleaning. A key feature is its custom-built electronic control system that automates operations, requiring minimal manual intervention. This approach enables facilities to conserve up to 35-40% of their fresh water consumption. From a financial perspective, the system is positioned as a cost-effective alternative to traditional Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), costing approximately 60-80% less to install and having 75% lower operating expenses.

The company initially focused on individual homeowners but has since expanded its strategy to include commercial sectors like IT companies and the hospitality industry, which are high-consumption environments. JalSevak has gained significant recognition, including being selected for the 'India Water Pitch-Pilot-Scale Start-Up Challenge' by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and winning the “Swachhata Startup Challenge”. The company is supported by investors such as Villgro, Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre, BonBillo, and Social Innovation Lab.
