In 1975, Jack Coronna founded JacTravel, a business-to-business hotel accommodation wholesaler and provider of inbound travel services. The company focused on establishing direct contractual relationships with hotels, providing tour operators and travel agents with a robust inventory for group and independent travel. This B2B model allowed them to become a key player behind the scenes in the European travel market, particularly in the UK and Ireland. The company's growth trajectory attracted private equity interest. In 2007, Bowmark Capital acquired the firm, supporting a period of significant expansion. This was followed by another acquisition in June 2014, when Vitruvian Partners purchased JacTravel for $135 million, with the goal of accelerating investment in technology and international growth. Under new ownership, JacTravel expanded its portfolio by acquiring the TotalStay Group in March 2015. A major turning point occurred in August 2017 when the Australian online travel company Webjet acquired JacTravel for £200 million. The deal was transformational, folding JacTravel into Webjet's B2B division, WebBeds, and helping to create the number two B2B player in the global travel market at the time. The story continued with another chapter in March 2025, when Tour Partner Group announced its acquisition of JacTravel from Webjet, aiming to create one of Europe's leading Destination Management Companies.
