Founded in 1987, ITracs began its journey focused on helping large companies manage their complex physical data center infrastructures. The company, originally known as Cablesoft Technologies, developed software to administer and provide a holistic view of the entire physical ecosystem within a data center. This included everything from network connectivity to power consumption and thermal conditions, all visualized in a 3D model. The leadership, including President and CEO Elizabeth A. Given, positioned ITracs as a key player in the emerging Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) market. The company's trajectory took a significant turn in March 2013 when it was acquired by CommScope, a global network infrastructure provider. This acquisition was a strategic move for CommScope to integrate ITracs's award-winning DCIM software into its own offerings, aiming to create one of the most comprehensive infrastructure management platforms in the industry. Prior to the acquisition, ITracs had secured investments from firms like Hopewell Ventures and an affiliate of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. The acquisition by CommScope marked the culmination of ITracs's 25-year journey, embedding its innovative technology into a larger global enterprise.
