IONICS develops and provides surface treatment technologies, including plasma sputtering, ion implantation, and electroplating. The company operates as both an equipment supplier and a job coater, serving industries such as automotive, architectural glass, biomedical devices, and electronics.
The company's history traces back to the foundation of "La Protection Métallique (LPM)" in 1945. A key milestone occurred in 2014 when the Materia Nova research center initiated IONICS SA, which took over the activities of MATRIO-GROUP and NANOXID, and commenced plasma treatment operations.
