Invia Travel Germany GmbH operates as a major online travel portal in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), specializing in package holidays. The company provides a platform for comparing and booking trips from numerous tour operators. Its portfolio includes well-known brands such as ab-in-den-urlaub.de, fluege.de, reisen.de, and hotelreservierung.de.
The company is part of the larger Invia Group, a pan-European online travel company headquartered in Prague, which was established in 2017 following the acquisition of the travel division of the insolvent German internet company, Unister, by Rockaway Capital. Invia Group itself was originally founded in the Czech Republic in 2002 by Michal Drozd. The German entity, Invia Travel Germany GmbH, is based in Leipzig. In December 2024, it was announced that WP Holding, a Polish technology group, signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Invia Group from CITIC Europe Holding and Rockaway Capital for approximately €240 million. The acquisition is aimed at creating one of the largest travel companies in Europe by combining Invia's assets with WP Holding's existing travel businesses, Wakacje.pl and Szallas Group. For the 12-month period ending in September 2024, Invia Group generated approximately €183 million in sales revenue.
