In 2012, a group of entrepreneurs including Adam Wexler and Adam Blaschke founded Insightpool in Atlanta. The company developed a platform to help large brands identify and engage with influencers, prospects, and customers on social media. The goal was to move beyond simple social media reach and help marketers drive measurable results by connecting with the right people. The company gained traction and secured multiple funding rounds, raising a total of $4.42 million. Its first round occurred in February 2013, followed by others that included investors like TDF Ventures and SVB. This capital fueled the growth of its data science capabilities and expanded its team. The significant event in Insightpool's journey was its acquisition by TrendKite in June 2018. TrendKite, an Austin-based public relations technology company, acquired Insightpool to integrate its influencer database with its own AI-driven PR analytics platform. This move was part of a larger strategy, as TrendKite was itself acquired by Cision in January 2019 for $225 million, bringing Insightpool's technology into the fold of the global media intelligence giant.
