The story of INFO-TV-OPERATOR begins not as a single entity, but as the convergence of two companies, Info Inwestycje Sp. z o.o. and TV-FM Sp. z o.o., which merged in September 2003. This new entity, based in Zamość, established itself as an independent telecommunications operator, focusing on a critical niche: broadcasting radio and television programs for both public and commercial clients across Poland. The company's core business was built on its own physical infrastructure of masts and towers. This network was fundamental to its operations, which included not just traditional broadcasting but also actively engaging in the development of digital transmission technologies like DVB-T. This strategic focus positioned them as a key player in Poland's digital transition. A significant milestone came in 2009 when the Polish Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) selected the company to be a wholesale operator for mobile television. The company's journey took a decisive turn in April 2013. EmiTel, a major player in broadcasting infrastructure, acquired INFO-TV-OPERATOR from Magna Polonia for 114.5 million PLN. The acquisition was a strategic move for EmiTel, allowing it to fill gaps in its own network of masts and expand its capacity for digital terrestrial television, radio emissions, and services for mobile operators. For INFO-TV-OPERATOR, this marked the culmination of its growth, integrating its specialized infrastructure into a larger, national network and concluding its chapter as an independent operator.
