Influence Health, formerly known as Medseek, provided a consumer experience platform for the healthcare industry. Founded in 1996, the company initially focused on creating web-based solutions to help healthcare organizations establish an online presence and attract consumers. Peter Kuhn, who joined as the third employee in 1996, served in various roles before becoming CEO in 2008.
Over time, the company's services evolved from basic website development to a comprehensive suite of digital marketing tools. This included a customer relationship management (CRM) solution, a multi-channel digital program management tool, marketing automation, a web content management system, and analytics. The platform was designed to help hospitals and health systems acquire and retain patients by using data-driven targeting, segmentation, and personalized marketing campaigns. The company aimed to be a complete solution for healthcare providers to transition into consumer-focused businesses. Influence Health's model segmented patients based on demographics and predictive analytics to deliver relevant engagement.
In January 2019, Influence Health was acquired by Healthgrades, an online resource for information about physicians and hospitals. The acquisition was intended to enhance Healthgrades' digital service offerings, particularly in CRM, web services, and reputation management, expanding its client base to over 1,500 hospitals. At the time of the acquisition, Rupen Patel was the CEO of Influence Health and subsequently became the Chief Strategy Officer at Healthgrades.
