Incuity Software Inc. was a developer of enterprise manufacturing intelligence (EMI) software designed to provide real-time data for business decision support. The company was founded in 2004 and was headquartered in Mission Viejo, California. It originated from a South African company, Ptm Software, whose founders later established Dataworks in 1998, which then became Incuity in 2004.
The firm's core product, IncuityEMI, was designed to integrate information from various production and enterprise systems. This platform collected real-time data from the plant floor, providing analytics such as executive dashboards, KPI monitoring, downtime analysis, and automated production reports to improve operational efficiency and reduce waste. The software was used across multiple industries for applications ranging from facility production to energy management. By 2008, the company had an installed base of over 45,000 licenses in more than 40 countries.
In May 2008, Rockwell Automation acquired Incuity Software for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition was a strategic move for Rockwell to enhance its FactoryTalk software suite by incorporating Incuity's EMI capabilities, which bridge the gap between industrial automation and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Following the acquisition, the Incuity management team and employees were integrated into Rockwell Automation's Architecture & Software operating segment.
