Ikonospace
Virtual exhibition platform for 3D and VR art.
Ikonospace is a creative agency and technology provider specializing in immersive digital experiences for the art world. Founded in 2015 by Joris Demnard, who grew up surrounded by art dealers, the company was officially incorporated in Amsterdam in 2017 to bridge art and technology. The firm develops end-to-end solutions for Web3D, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) applications.
The company's core services include creating immersive websites with 3D and AR technologies, providing high-quality premade 3D virtual galleries that can be embedded into websites, and designing bespoke virtual environments or "digital twins" of real spaces. Ikonospace serves artists, collectors, galleries, museums, and cultural institutions, helping them utilize 3D technologies for exhibitions and to preserve cultural heritage. One of its notable early projects was creating one of the first VR museums for the DSL Collection in 2016. The business model includes providing these software tools and creative services, with a recent focus on the Web3 and NFT space. In 2023, the company participated in the Fuelarts x Tezos accelerator to develop a new platform dedicated to NFT art exhibitions. This platform, named Ikoni, aims to be an aggregator where users can bring together NFTs from various wallets and blockchains into a single, curated virtual space.
