Icebergs

Icebergs is a visual platform designed for creative professionals and teams to organize inspiration and research. Founded in 2012 by César Isern and Albert Pereta, the service allows users to collect various types of content, including images, videos, articles, and files, and arrange them on private, collaborative boards. This functionality is similar to a private Pinterest, but with a focus on professional creative and research workflows.

The platform's primary goal is to streamline the research process by providing a centralized space for content gathering and organization. Users can save items with a browser extension, upload files directly, or add notes. The content can then be shared with team members for collaborative projects, enabling a more integrated workflow for tasks like creating mood boards, planning projects, or writing articles. It targets a wide range of users, from individuals planning personal projects to professional teams in design, marketing, and research fields. Icebergs operated on a freemium model, with a free basic plan and paid subscriptions for enhanced features like unlimited private boards and advanced collaboration tools.

However, as of August 2018, Icebergs announced it was shutting down its service. The founders communicated that they were unable to find a sustainable business model to continue operating and growing the platform. While the service is no longer active, its concept highlighted the growing need for sophisticated tools to manage and collaborate on digital content and research for creative professionals.
