In 1996, Arnon Levy founded GuestTek in Calgary, Canada, with a straightforward idea: provide high-speed internet to hotel rooms. The company became the first in North America to put this service into a hotel, setting a new standard for guest amenities. GuestTek started by offering wired and wireless internet, later expanding to include IPTV services, voice solutions, and bundled packages for the hospitality industry. The company’s journey included a significant move in 2004 when it went public with an IPO. This event provided capital for further expansion and development. However, the company's status changed in 2009 when it underwent a going-private transaction and was delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange. A key growth phase for GuestTek occurred in 2014 with the acquisitions of competitors iBahn and TelNet. These strategic purchases expanded GuestTek's customer base and service offerings. The company continued its growth trajectory by acquiring Event Conferencing Services (ECS) in 2022 to bolster its event and conference networking solutions. Today, under the leadership of CEO Kate Levy, GuestTek operates globally, providing technology solutions to hotels in numerous countries.
