They formed an AG (a Swiss public limited company) to purchase the hotel, financing the acquisition through a combination of bank loans, private loans, and personal funds. The management was later handed over to Antje Buchs in November 2021, who leads a team largely composed of local residents, some of whom have family ties to the hotel's past.
The hotel targets both tourists and locals, offering recently renovated rooms that blend modern amenities with a traditional Swiss mountain feel. Accommodations include double rooms, family rooms, and six themed rooms that celebrate the region's heritage and identity. Revenue is generated from room bookings and its on-site restaurant and bar, which serves breakfast, dinner, and drinks. The business model emphasizes a strong connection to the local economy by sourcing products from regional producers, such as bread from the Buchs bakery and cheese from the Jaun dairy. This strategy aims to provide guests with an authentic experience of the Gruyère district.
The hotel's primary service is accommodation, featuring recently refurbished rooms with Swiss timber, private bathrooms, and free WiFi.
