Hilookea, legally registered as Fuyouze (Beijing) Catering Management Co., Ltd., operated a chain of food stores specializing in traditional Chinese meat recipes. The company was founded in 2015 by Wang Xiaohai and was headquartered in Shijiazhuang, China. Wang, a '90s-born entrepreneur, had prior experience creating a coupon and food delivery website during his university years that achieved an annual turnover of over 20 million yuan.
The company's primary brand was "Xianlujia" (鲜卤家), which positioned itself as a pioneer of the "community one-stop table-ready food supermarket" concept. The stores offered a variety of dishes such as marinated pig ears, braised beef tendon, and roasted duck, providing convenient meal solutions for households. By 2018, the company had established a large-scale strategic factory and developed over 100 proprietary food products, supplying hundreds of chain stores across the nation. The business model focused on serving family consumers within community settings.
Hilookea secured several rounds of funding, including an angel round in October 2015 and two early-stage venture capital rounds in December 2015 and July 2018, raising a total of $1.52 million. One of the pre-A round investors was Yuanzheng Investment. However, according to PitchBook data, the company went out of business as of June 2021. Public records also show the company was involved in a franchise contract dispute in 2023.
