The Henry is guided by our founding principle: that art expands hearts and minds. All of us here—the board and staff—believe that exposure to artists and original works of art inspires original thinking—and that original thinking is, and always has been, essential to advancing civilization. While works of art may have value as objects, it is the experience of them that is most precious.
