Hashport

HashPort is a Japanese blockchain technology provider established in 2018 that offers comprehensive solutions to support the adoption of Web3. The company's services include Web3 wallet systems for financial institutions, digital identity solutions using SoulBound Tokens (SBTs), and consulting and system development for businesses entering the Web3 space. Through its subsidiary, HashPalette, the company also operates in the NFT sector.

HashPalette, established in March 2020, focuses on the NFT business. It developed "Palette Chain," a blockchain network optimized for distributing entertainment-related NFTs for content like manga, music, and sports. HashPalette also operates "PLT Place," one of Japan's largest NFT marketplaces, and issues the Palette Token (PLT). In July 2021, HashPalette conducted Japan's first Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) in partnership with the Coincheck exchange, raising significant capital for its PLT token. The PLT token, an ERC-20 cryptocurrency, is used for NFT purchases, paying node management fees, and covering smart contract issuance fees on the Palette network.

The company has formed strategic partnerships to drive blockchain adoption. It has collaborated with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation for PoC using SBTs and is involved in providing Web3 wallets for the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. In July 2023, HashPort raised $8.5 million in a Series C funding round led by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, The University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners (UTEC), and prominent angel investor Yusaku Maezawa, bringing its total funding to $14.2 million.
