Hai An Transport and Stevedoring Joint Stock Company (HAH) is a Vietnam-based company engaged in marine logistics, including port operations, sea transport, and logistics services. Founded on May 8, 2009, with an initial charter capital of 150 billion VND, the company's primary goal was to construct and operate a port in the Hai Phong area. The founding members included Marina Ha Noi Jsc, Marine Supply And Engineering Service Joint Stock Company, Hai Minh Corporation, Hai An Shipbuilding Jsc, and Hai Ha Investment and Transport Jsc. The current Chairman is Vu Thanh Hai, who holds a degree in marine vessel control and a Master of Business Administration.
The company's business model is built around three core segments: port exploitation, maritime transport, and comprehensive logistics. Its services include cargo stevedoring, sea and inland container transport, warehousing, freight forwarding, and customs clearance. HAH operates a fleet of container ships on domestic and intra-Asian routes. The fleet has grown significantly, and as of July 2024, it comprised 15 vessels, making it a key player with nearly 30% of the domestic container transport market share. The company follows a strategy of maintaining a balance between self-operated vessels and vessels for lease to mitigate the impact of freight rate volatility. Revenue is generated from port services, vessel operations, and a wide array of logistics services offered to both domestic and international clients.
HAH has achieved several significant milestones since its inception. In 2010, it established its first subsidiary, Hai An Port Company Limited. A major turning point came in September 2011, when it officially became a joint stock company. The company was listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) under the ticker HAH on March 11, 2015. To diversify its service offerings, HAH entered into a joint venture with Pantos Holding Incorporation of South Korea in 2017 to establish the Pan Hai An Logistics Center in Hai Phong. The company has continually invested in modernizing and expanding its fleet, which is now ranked among the top 100 largest container fleets globally by Alphaliner.
