Guifenghuang

Guifenghuang is a food company specializing in Guizhou cuisine, including rice noodles, pre-packaged meals, and local agricultural products. Originally established in Beijing in June 2017 as a catering management company, it later relocated to Guizhou and became Guifenghuang (Guizhou) Food Co., Ltd. The company was founded by Tao Tingting, who spent five years from 2012 to 2017 exploring Guizhou, collecting over 400 local snack recipes and identifying ingredient sources, which laid the foundation for the business. Tao was named one of the Top Ten Role Models in Guizhou in 2020.

The company operates through a multi-channel business model that includes a chain of physical restaurants, e-commerce sales, corporate group catering, and convenience store distribution. It has established several directly-operated stores in major cities like Beijing, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou, with plans to open more in Shanghai and Hangzhou. Guifenghuang's business model focuses on using products from within Guizhou to serve markets outside the province, driving the initiative to bring Guizhou's goods, agricultural products, and cuisine to a national audience. Its e-commerce presence includes stores on platforms like Tmall, Taobao, and JD.com.

Significant milestones include receiving a seed round from Peking University's Weiming Angel Fund, being listed on Dianping's "Must-Eat" list in Beijing, and completing a Series A financing round in July 2021, which valued the company at 200 million yuan. In October 2021, the company was recognized as a key enterprise for promoting rural revitalization and was officially relocated back to Guiyang by the end of 2022.
