In 1950, the Colli family founded La Patria, a security services company in Italy. For decades, it operated as a classic family business, establishing a strong presence in regions like Emilia Romagna and Lombardy. The company built its reputation by combining technology-enabled alarm services with manned patrols, serving both businesses and individual clients. A significant shift in its journey occurred in 2012 when private equity funds, including Fondo Italiano d'Investimento and PM & Partners, invested in the company. This injection of capital fueled a new phase of growth, allowing La Patria to make a series of acquisitions and expand its footprint. The next major turning point came in August 2019, when the London-based private equity firm A&M Capital Europe acquired the company. At the time of the acquisition, La Patria served over 12,000 clients and was a leader in Italian security and surveillance. The deal, which valued the company at an enterprise value of around 47 million euros, marked a new chapter aimed at creating a market leader in remote monitoring services through further investment in technology and strategic partnerships. CEO Andrea Monti continued to lead the business, steering it into its next stage of development under new ownership.
