The story begins in 1991, when Gérard Tual founded his own temporary employment agency, SIM 53, in a small 17m2 office in Laval, France. His son, Samuel Tual, initially pursued his own entrepreneurial path, founding a student media publishing house. However, a decade later, the father and son decided to merge their respective businesses, giving birth to Groupe Actual in 2001. Under the leadership of Samuel Tual, who became president in 2011, the company embarked on a significant growth trajectory. The core of their strategy was not just about temporary staffing, but about providing a complete suite of solutions for employment and skills development, including recruitment, support, and training. A pivotal moment came in 2018 with the merger of Actual group and Leader, another major player in the French temporary work sector. This move created the Actual Leader group, a powerhouse in the national market. This was followed by a series of strategic acquisitions to expand both geographically and into specialized sectors, such as IT, healthcare, and hospitality, acquiring companies like Ergalis, Up Skills, and Alter Ego. Today, Groupe Actual is the 5th largest player in the French labor market, championing what they call a humanistic vision of work, aiming to make employment accessible to all.
