GreenKey Technologies, founded in 2013 by Anthony Tassone, operates at the intersection of artificial intelligence and voice data analysis, serving two distinct, high-stakes markets: financial services and public safety. The company has developed a sophisticated natural language processing (NLP) platform that transcribes and analyzes complex, domain-specific language from audio and text sources in real time.

Anthony Tassone, who has a background in computer science, financial modeling, and over 15 years in global trading, identified a critical need for structuring the vast amounts of unstructured voice data in financial markets. His journey began on the Chicago Board of Trade floor, leading to roles in algorithmic trading and product development, which provided the foundational insights for GreenKey. The company was initially launched to serve over-the-counter (OTC) financial markets, developing a patented "soft turret" technology that replaced cumbersome hardware with a flexible, cloud-based software solution. This system allowed traders to communicate more efficiently and created searchable, digitized records of their conversations for compliance and analytics. The business model focused on providing these NLP and automated workflow tools to banks, brokerage firms, and trading houses as a subscription-based service (SaaS).

Pivoting from an initial product focus on a block pool platform, GreenKey directed its resources entirely to voice software. A significant milestone was the strategic partnership and subsequent investment from IPC, a major provider of trading communications technology, which gave IPC exclusive rights to GreenKey's voice technology for the financial sector. This collaboration integrated GreenKey's AI into IPC's Unigy 360 platform, offering voice-to-text transcription and workflow automation to over 6,400 market participants. In September 2021, GreenKey Technologies was acquired by VoxSmart, a global leader in communications surveillance, to enhance its NLP capabilities for financial institutions.

Leveraging its core competency, GreenKey expanded into the public safety sector, specifically addressing the challenge of analyzing police body camera footage. Recognizing that less than 1% of the vast amount of recorded video is ever reviewed due to logistical constraints, the company adapted its NLP platform to this market. The service provides law enforcement agencies with performance analytics, including metrics on respectfulness, de-escalation tactics, and potential racial bias, by automatically transcribing and analyzing the audio from officer interactions. This offering helps police departments automate supervision, facilitate coaching, and promote professionalism. The technology for this application eventually spun off or evolved into a new entity co-founded by Tassone, called Truleo.
