Godrej Properties

The story of Godrej Properties is a chapter in a much larger book, that of the Godrej Group, founded in 1897 by brothers Ardeshir and Pirojsha Burjorji Godrej. Starting with the manufacturing of locks, the Godrej name became synonymous with India's industrial growth. Fast forward to 1990, and the group, under the leadership of Adi Godrej, identified a new frontier: real estate. Godrej Properties was established with the goal of bringing the group's philosophy of innovation and trust to the real estate industry. The company began its journey by focusing on quality and reliability in a market that was often fragmented and lacked trust. It became one of the first real estate companies in India to receive ISO certification. Their initial projects were concentrated in Mumbai, but they soon expanded their footprint to other major Indian cities. A pivotal moment for the company arrived in late 2009 when it launched its Initial Public Offering (IPO), becoming a publicly listed company in January 2010. This move provided the capital for significant expansion, allowing Godrej Properties to acquire more land and undertake larger-scale developments across the country.
