Giztix, a Bangkok-based e-logistics startup, was founded in 2015 by Sittisak Wongsomnuk. Wongsomnuk, who previously developed ERP software for logistics and assisted with his family's logistics business, identified a market need to simplify and digitize freight transportation. This led to the creation of an online marketplace designed to connect shippers with a network of road transport providers.
The company operates a B2B trucking marketplace that allows businesses to find, book, and manage freight services. Shippers can receive instant quotes, book trucks, track shipments in real-time, and handle payments through the platform, which is accessible via mobile and desktop applications. For transporters, Giztix offers a way to acquire customers and manage their fleets. The platform includes a Transport Management System (TMS) that helps businesses outsource delivery services or manage their own vehicles, featuring functions for scheduling, cost management, and driver tracking through a dedicated app.
Giztix's business model generates revenue through commissions and transaction fees charged to the transport providers who secure business through the platform; the service is free for shippers. The company has demonstrated significant growth, spurred in part by the increased demand for online services, reporting a 420% increase in transport trips managed through the platform in 2020 and 2021. The platform serves a wide range of clients, from small and medium-sized enterprises to large corporations like SCG, for whom Giztix developed a customized digital platform to manage logistics for its building materials dealers.
The company has successfully raised a total of $11.6 million over three funding rounds. Its Series A round in 2017 was notably led by AddVentures, the venture capital arm of industrial conglomerate SCG. This was followed by a $10 million Series B round in November 2021, co-led by Bualuang Ventures and WHA Group, to enhance its technology and expand its network. Looking ahead, Giztix has stated intentions to prepare for an IPO on the Thai stock exchange by 2025.
