GenieConnect developed a mobile application and web portal designed to enhance engagement at corporate meetings and events. Headquartered in Maidenhead, UK, the company provided features such as multi-event apps, iBeacon integration, gamification, interactive maps, and real-time analytics to help event organizers manage their events and understand attendee behavior. The platform was founded in 2010.
The company's technology was already integrated with many of Lanyon's solutions before the acquisition. In December 2014, GenieConnect was acquired by Lanyon, a provider of cloud-based software for corporate meetings, events, and travel programs. This acquisition was part of Lanyon's strategy to create a comprehensive suite of solutions for the events industry. Following this, Lanyon itself was acquired by Vista Equity Partners and merged with Cvent in November 2016, creating a larger, privately-held event technology company operating under the Cvent brand.
