Gelonghui
Global investment research platform for Chinese investors.
Gelonghui is a global investment research platform founded in 2014 by Dr. Chen Shouhong (pen name: Gelong). The company acts as a multifaceted hub, combining the functions of a financial media outlet, a research institute, an investment bank, and a database provider. It primarily serves Chinese investors looking to invest overseas and Chinese companies seeking international financing, with a core focus on the Hong Kong, U.S., and A-share markets. The platform offers a one-stop shop for data, market quotes, news, research, trading, and social networking.
The founder, Dr. Chen Shouhong, holds a Ph.D. in finance and is a distinguished figure in China's investment community, being one of the first to invest overseas. His 25-year career spans major fund management companies and a large Hong Kong-based Chinese insurance firm, where he held roles such as research and investment director, managing assets worth over a hundred billion. This extensive cross-market experience in A-shares, Hong Kong stocks, and U.S. stocks provided the foundation for Gelonghui. He established Shenzhen Gelonghui Information Technology Co., Ltd. in May 2015 to serve as the company's main entity.
The company's business model is centered on providing comprehensive investment services. It generates revenue through various channels, including financial public relations, research services, and potentially through commission splits from brokerage access, although it primarily functions as an independent third-party research institution. Gelonghui's offerings are delivered through a suite of digital products, including the Gelonghui App, Jiyan App for research, Hui Roadshow App, and Gougu Big Data system. The platform has a user base of tens of millions and has established a significant presence on major media platforms. In February 2023, the company announced it would integrate Baidu's "Wenxin Yiyan" (ERNIE Bot) to enhance its financial information and advisory services with AI capabilities.
