Fulcrum Financial Data

Fulcrum Financial Data was formally introduced on September 6, 2016, by Leeds Equity Partners as a new entity designed to consolidate four distinct companies providing real-time news, covenant analysis, and data for the credit markets. This strategic combination was the result of a series of acquisitions by Leeds Equity Partners, starting with Covenant Review in 2014, followed by CapitalStructure and PacerMonitor in 2015. In April 2016, Steve Miller, a recognized leader in the credit news and analysis sector and founder of Leveraged Commentary and Data (LCD), was brought on to lead the holding company. In July 2018, Fulcrum Financial Data was acquired by Fitch Group, a global leader in financial information, and became part of its Fitch Solutions division. Miller continued to lead the business post-acquisition.

The company operates as a provider of financial data and analysis for credit marketing professionals, serving clients such as asset managers, banks, and private equity firms. Its business model is centered on offering subscription-based access to its suite of products. This portfolio includes several specialized services. Covenant Review delivers in-depth analysis of bond indentures and loan agreements. CapitalStructure offers news and analysis on sub-investment grade credit, with a focus on special situations. LevFin Insights provides real-time news, commentary, and data for the leveraged loan and high-yield bond markets. PacerMonitor is a platform for researching and tracking federal bankruptcy, district, and appellate court cases.

The creation of Fulcrum brought together the founders of the acquired companies, retaining their expertise to drive the individual businesses. Covenant Review was founded by Adam Cohen. CapitalStructure was co-founded by Sarah Goodchild and Minaxi Kesra. PacerMonitor was established by Joe Rosen, a restructuring specialist. LevFin Insights was founded by a core group of former senior managers from Leveraged Commentary and Data: Marc Auerbach, Christopher Donnelly, Matthew Fuller, Kerry Kantin, and Robert Polenberg. This collection of entrepreneurs was assembled under the leadership of Steve Miller to form a single, comprehensive financial information company.
