Founded in 2011 by Fabian Oliva and Brandon Wan, Fiverun established itself as a developer of enterprise retail solutions headquartered in San Francisco. Oliva, serving as CEO, and Wan, as VP of Product, guided the company from its inception. The firm was notably incubated at Orange Fab and H/F Fund, securing investments from backers such as Bee Partners and Bialla Venture Partners.
Fiverun developed a cloud-based, omnichannel commerce platform tailored for retailers. The core of its offering was a tablet-based solution that empowered retail sales associates with mobile point-of-sale (mPoS) capabilities. This allowed staff to process checkouts, create gift registries, and provide customer recommendations from anywhere on the store floor. The platform's features extended to customer analytics, inventory and merchandise analytics, and order tracking. It was designed to be globally scalable, supporting various countries and currencies, and to integrate with existing enterprise software. The system aimed to unify online and in-store sales channels, providing real-time data to manage business operations and enhance customer service.
The company's client base included major retailers like Macy's and Sephora. The business model centered on providing this integrated suite of tools as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution. On January 14, 2016, Fiverun was acquired by Vista Equity Partners. Following the acquisition, it was merged with two other Vista portfolio companies, MarketLive and Shopatron, to create a new entity named Kibo. This strategic consolidation aimed to form a unified omnichannel commerce provider, combining Fiverun's mobile and in-store capabilities with the e-commerce and order management strengths of its new sister companies.
