Fitinsur is a Brazilian company that operates as an "Insurtech as a Service" for the commercial insurance market, providing a cloud-based, API-driven platform to digitalize and manage the insurance lifecycle. Founded in December 2019 by Denise Lima de Oliveira (CEO), Carlos Wagner L. (CTO), and Erika Chou, the company was established to address the lack of technological investment and innovation in the business insurance segment. CEO Denise Oliveira transitioned from a career in major multinational corporations like IBM and AIG, seeking to solve recurring inefficiencies in the insurance sector by creating a platform that offers greater autonomy and modernization.
The company's core offering is a proprietary SaaS platform that connects and serves insurers, reinsurers, brokers, MGAs (Managing General Agents), and other insurtechs. It enables clients to create, configure, and distribute commercial insurance products, manage policies, and handle claims through a fully digital workflow. This multilateral platform is designed to be modular, allowing clients to use the complete end-to-end solution or select specific modules to fit their needs. One of its key features is the ability to parameterize new commercial lines products with an online quotation flow, reducing operational processes and accelerating time-to-market from months to weeks. Fitinsur's business model focuses on high-value contracts with a select number of strategic clients rather than a large volume of smaller customers.
Shortly after its founding, in March 2020, Fitinsur secured a significant contract with Texel Finance Limited, a London-based MGA, which led to the platform's certification by Lloyd's of London. This achievement marked a period of rapid growth, allowing the company to reach its break-even point in 2021. In August 2023, Fitinsur raised approximately $10 million in its first external funding round, a Series A led by Lanx Capital with participation from EquitasVC. The company has also participated in accelerator programs from Google for Startups and BTG Pactual's BoostLab. Its client roster includes international names such as Mitsui Sumitomo and HDI Global.
