FIT52
Personalized fitness and nutrition mobile wellness platform.
Fit52 is a community-focused wellness and fitness application launched in March 2020 by seven-time GRAMMY® Award-winning singer Carrie Underwood. The platform was developed in partnership with the product studio Creative Labs and the Creative Artists Agency (CAA). It is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, and raised $12 million in an early-stage venture capital round in June 2021, with investors including Caravan and Clearco.
The app is inspired by Underwood's personal passion for a healthy and active lifestyle, which she has maintained for years with her trainer, Eve Overland. Underwood, a multi-platinum recording artist, author, and designer of the CALIA fitness apparel line, sought to create an accessible platform for individuals with busy schedules. The app's launch coincided with the release of her book, "FIND YOUR PATH: Honor Your Body, Fuel Your Soul, and Get Strong with the Fit52 Life." Her husband, retired NHL player Mike Fisher, also contributes to the platform with his own advanced workout path.
The business operates on a subscription-based model, offering monthly, quarterly, and annual plans with a free trial period. The core of the fit52 experience is a workout generator based on a virtual deck of 52 playing cards. Each card reveals a specific exercise and the number of repetitions, ensuring varied, full-body workouts that can often be completed in under 30 minutes. The platform serves a broad market, from beginners to advanced athletes, and provides specialized programs for pregnancy, postpartum, and low-impact needs. Users can personalize workouts by swapping or excluding exercises, select paths based on their fitness level, and use the app with minimal or no equipment. Beyond workouts, the app includes nutrition guidance with recipes, a food journal, calorie tracking, progress monitoring that syncs with Apple Health, and a community feature for user support and motivation.
